Deck Staining Details
August 03, 2017The hot summer months and endless use can fade and damage decks. Though for the most part it is too hot to stain decks currently, once the temperature drops to the 80s, it is the perfect time to fix your deck! This is especially the case living in the south where outdoor dining and enjoyment is nearly an all year experience. At Southern Painting, we execute the following steps to ensure this year-round enjoyment:
1. Rejuvenate Wood: We have a process that removes the old, grey coloring from the wood and revives the wood to it original color.
2. Surface Sanding: This includes sanding the decks and railing caps to ensure the stain sticking to a smooth surface, free of any wood splits.
3. Stain with Semi-transparent or Solid Stain: Semi-transparent stain allows the wood grain to be seen while solid stains are vibrant hues that in most cases completely hide the wood’s texture.
