What Our 3-Year Limited Labor Warranty Covers

Our teams guarantee their workmanship for three years on completed paint services. This means the paint we apply is guaranteed not to peel, blister, or flake due to our workmanship during this time. It’s our commitment to you, reflecting the care and expertise that go into every job.

However, in the interest of transparency, it’s important to note that this coverage is not all-encompassing. Specific surfaces such as doors and French or wood windows have a one-year warranty, reflecting the different conditions they encounter.

What is Not Covered

We want to prevent surprises by being clear about what is not included. The warranty does not cover caulk, horizontal surfaces, galvanized metal, rust, decks, mildew, other interior or exterior moisture damage, or issues caused by the house shifting or settling.

Moreover, the warranty is strictly a workmanship guarantee. The paint products themselves are covered by their manufacturers, such as Sherwin-Williams® and Benjamin Moore®. Additionally, damages from causes outside workmanship—including regular aging and wear, foundation problems, wood rot, weather, and severe blistering or caulk separation caused by intense or direct heat—are not covered.

How the Warranty Works

If a covered defect appears within the three years and is reported to us in writing, your local Southern Painting team will inspect the area and repair the painting in that affected area only. Keep in mind, this warranty does not include repairs to the underlying substrates such as wood, Masonite, brick, or metal, nor does it cover any consequential damage. Repairing the defective painted area is the sole remedy.
